Our process

Unlike a  lumber broker, we manage every step of the process—from tree to table.

  • Stacked wooden planks with sunlight casting shadows on them.

    Sourcing

Partner with local municipalities and tree services

  • Cross-section of a tree trunk showing growth rings, surrounded by wood chips and sawdust.

    Milling

Our in-house sawmill processes each log with care

  • Person ascending a modern, open staircase in a building with metal railings and a view of greenery outside.

    Drying

Kiln-dried for stability, strength, and longevity

  • A view looking up at tree branches with dense green leaves, moss, and lichen.

    Crafting

Premium lumber and slabs ready for transformation

  • Close-up of a wooden piece with a dovetail joint, showing the detailed interlocking wood grain.

    Delivery

Local fulfillment with minimal carbon impact

  • Two men in a woodworking shop examining a wooden board. One man wears a plaid shirt and the other a gray shirt with safety glasses and a leather apron.

    Reporting

Every board foot comes with carbon storage data and documented tree origin

We trace each piece of wood back to its source—by species, neighborhood, and partner. That means our clients know exactly where their materials come from and how they were processed. True supply chain transparency, from forest to finish. Every step is done with intention, resulting in enduring products with a purpose.

“Storm Trees has been a vital partner in our Urban Wood Project.

Their work in diverting wood from the waste stream and integrating it into the supply chain is exactly what’s needed to build a more sustainable future. We fully support their mission and efforts to increase kiln capacity, which will allow even more wood to be repurposed into durable, high-quality furniture."
